Some Things You Will Never Do in Heaven (Part 2)
In our prior lesson, we noted three things that a child of God will never do in heaven: (1) Go to the medicine cabinet, (2) Attend a funeral, and (3) Turn on a light switch. Let's consider some more of these truths at this time.

4. IN HEAVEN, YOU WILL NEVER FACE A TEMPTATION.
Can you imagine life without temptation? It would be wonderful not to have to struggle with the daily temptations Satan sets before us (cf. I Pet. 5:8)! Oh how we wish we could lay our armor aside as Christians and rest from the constant battle of faith that we endure every day in this world (cf. Eph. 6:13-18). But, we cannot rest now! Temptation is a part of this life, and we must continually battle against it, refusing to give in and commit sin (cf. James 1:14,15). It stands to reason that there won't be any temptations to face in heaven, because the devil won't be there! Won't that be nice? On Earth there will always be temptations for us to deal with, but not in heaven. Don't you want to go there?

5. IN HEAVEN, YOU WILL NEVER VISIT A SICK PERSON.
That's right, you will never visit a sick person in heaven. Why not? Because there won't be any sickness in heaven. On Earth, it is right and good for us to visit those who are sick in hospitals or at home (cf. Matt. 25:36), but we will never do this in heaven. Christians who are afflicted with long-term illnesses need not be concerned about their health in the afterlife. No one will be sick or ill in heaven! Isn't that wonderful to think about? John wrote in Revelation 21:4 that "the former things have passed away." Sickness will not exist in heaven. Parents, how often have you had to take care of sick children or loved ones? That need will not exist in heaven. On Earth there will always be a need to visit the sick, but not in heaven. Don't you want to go there?

6. IN HEAVEN, YOU WILL NEVER LOCK YOUR DOORS.
Do you lock your car doors and the doors to your house? You do, don't you? I know my mother does. Most people do in America, and for good reason. We live in a wicked society. Every day the news tells us about those who have been beaten, robbed, raped, and killed the night before. We lock our windows, bolt our doors, and secure our homes. But, have you ever thought about those "mansions" in heaven (John 14:2)? We'll never hear any bad news there. We won't have to be concerned about thieves breaking in and stealing or criminals hurting others. We will be safe without locks and security systems. There won't be any door locks because we won't need them in heaven! Nothing will enter heaven "that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie" (Rev. 21:27). On Earth there will always be a need to lock doors, but not in heaven. Don't you want to go there?

7. IN HEAVEN, YOU WILL NEVER SEE AN OLD PERSON.
Today, there are more elderly people alive than ever before. As time goes on, we all can see the aging process in ourselves and others. As our physical bodies get older, we wrinkle, our vision dims, our strength fails, our hearing fades, and our energy wanes (cf. Eccl. 12:3-7). It's nothing to be depressed about because it happens to all of us. We should remember Paul's words to the Corinthians - "Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day" (II Cor. 4:16). There are thousands of retirement and nursing homes in our country because there are a lot of elderly folks who are in need of them. But, in heaven there won't be any need for such. You won't see anyone getting old, or, more accurately, you won't see anyone growing decrepit! Won't that be great? We won't age in heaven like we do here. Our heavenly bodies will not be corruptible and subject to degradation, as is the case with our current physical bodies. On Earth there will always be elderly people, but not in heaven. Don't you want to go there?

We will conclude this series in our next lesson.
